My Panel 61 is about the American Dream. To me it has a lasting effect on Americans today after the Great Migration. The symbols are train tracks (endless places to go), green grass, crystal blue water, and the astonishing sky with the city in the near distance. The posters is setting the example of what migrants and blacks dreamed of the American Dream being; the illusion is in so many minds, but to some of them it was something that they strived for everyday. I feel this has been the lasting effect on America and even overseas. Everybody hears of the American Dream and it gives them hope and something to hold on to. Through all of this, the poster symbolizes a deep understanding for me of the complex trials that migrants and blacks went through to get to the point they are at now.
