My painting is based off of a picture from Beyoncé's lemonade album, I love that her eye's are covered, however, despite one of her major features being covered I think most people could still recognize this as a photo of Beyonce, which just shows how influential and recognizable she has become. Indeed, one of my favorite things about her is that she made her own success, she didn't come from a rich family, but instead has gained recognition and fame for her talent. She uses her influence for good by speaking her mind about important issues that matter to her and uses her wealth to support these causes. To me, this painting captures her strength as a person and an artist, and her legacy as an African American icon.
