For my panel, I decided to paint multiple girls, with different races, to represent diversity. I feel as though diversity has had a lasting effect on Americans today. Having different races, ethnicities, cultural backgrounds, and religions makes America, America. Diversity is the reason we are the way we are. Our music is the way it is because of the Harlem renaissance, because of Little Richard, Muddy Waters, Etta James, etc.... However, because of the way America has portrayed people of color, its caused chaos, hate groups, and wrong assumptions. America had these deep roots of believing people of color were not equal and that they should not have the same rights as whites. America is changing for the better, and diversity has made America great. I feel as though if we continue to accept others for who they are, we can be so much more.
