The Great Migration has effected African Americans in many ways today. It has given blacks a harder and more difficult path to income and success. My panel depicts an African American man on that path. He is carrying a weight of which he cannot rid himself. The weight depicts the oppression and struggle he has to go through. As if the weight isn’t enough to carry, he is getting struck by lightning and carrying the weight up a hill. Those represent the hardship he goes through today and every day. The struggle that African Americans went through during the Great Migration is still existent today.
