The Great migration has affected everyone in today's society. Although many things have changed for the better, hardships will always find their way into even the best of situations. What my panel displays is a black male split in two. The two sides represent older times and a black male in today's world. Even though they were very different times they still make up one man. In the background of the picture is a prison fence and a guard tower overlooking a large tree. The mid-section of the tree is a handgun that represents events such as police brutality and from the barrel sprouts branches which lead to a noose and a chain hanging from the tree. Tied to the noose is a bag of money because money is still a major problem for black communities. From the chain hangs a paper with the 14th Amendment. Everything in the picture ends up in one way or another connected to this black man with his head hung low. Regardless of past, present, and future no one man can do it alone. The Great Migration started something of a revolution and to carry it on we must beat out the systems that prevent us from our ultimate goal… pure happiness.
