My panel reflects the growth of the African American community as a result of the migration North. Rihanna, Will Smith, and Neil Degrasse Tyson: three influential African Americans. If African Americans hadn’t moved North, we wouldn’t have the diverse community that we do in science, acting or music today. Communities today are more open to diversity than in the past and the migration allowed for the growth of this diversity in America.
